Scott Glogovac is a founding member of the firm. He is a native Nevadan who attended Reno area public schools and graduated with a degree in history from the University of Nevada-Reno in 1976. He subsequently attended law school at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, where he graduated cum laude in 1979. He returned to Nevada after graduation, working for one year as a law clerk for District Judge John W. Barrett of the Washoe County District Court in Reno.
Scott became admitted to practice law in Nevada in 1979. He is licensed to practice before all state and federal courts in Nevada, and before the federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals based in San Francisco, California.
Scott has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1980. He has developed two distinct areas of expertise. He is an insurance law specialist who handles a broad array of insurance-related matters for both insurers and policyholders, including litigated disputes at both the trial and appellate levels. He is also a media law specialist who, for many years, has been outside counsel to northern Nevada’s largest daily newspaper. In that capacity, he conducts pre-publication review for the newsroom, and provides advice on a wide assortment of other matters, including access issues, Freedom of Information Act disputes, reporter’s privilege issues, subpoenas and First Amendment concerns.
Scott is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a Fellow of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel. He is a Past President of the Northern Nevada Association of Defense Counsel and served for many years as a member of the Nevada Board of Bar Examiners.
